Law Reform Essay Competition Award Ceremony 2025
The Law Reform Commission of Hong Kong (“LRC”) is pleased to have held the Award Ceremony for the Law Reform Essay Competition (“Essay Competition”) on 15 July 2025, when members of the LRC, members of LRC Sub-committees, and other distinguished guests in the legal and wider communities graced us with their presence to celebrate the success of the finalists of the latest Essay Competition.
This is the twelfth time when this annual Essay Competition was held. To expand their exposure and better equip them for the opportunities ahead, the finalists have been awarded with summer placements at leading law firms, barristers’ chambers, a commercial corporation in addition to the Law Drafting Division in the Department of Justice. In his Welcome Address, Mr Paul Lam, SC, Chairman of the LRC, sincerely thanked the sponsors of the competition for partnering with the LRC to nurture the up and coming and to provide them with opportunities to have a taste of a professional legal career. The sponsors of the competition, in alphabetical order, are CK Hutchison Holdings Limited, Des Voeux Chambers, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, Parkside Chambers, Temple Chambers and Woo Kwan Lee & Lo.
The Chairman of the LRC further thanked (in alphabetical order) the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Shue Yan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong for encouraging their students to participate in this annual competition.
